  • Can I accept a payment and then later transfer it to my bank account?

    Yes, you can receive payments at any time. However, to transfer your money to your bank account, you first need to verify your identity. This is only needed once. You can then transfer part or full balance to your bank account at any time.

  • Can I send money to or request money from someone who doesn’t have the Careem app?

    Yes, when you send money to or request from someone they will receive a link to download the Careem app, and can then complete the transaction. If they decide not to, no money will be deducted from you. To send money, the sender needs to verify their identity. This is only needed once.

  • Are there additional charges for paying bills on Careem?

    There are no charges applied to pay bill from your Careem account

  • What are Global transfers?

    This feature lets you send money from the UAE to other countries using your added payment methods on the Careem app. Note: This service is currently available from UAE to India and Pakistan. More corridors are opening soon.

    1. Select ‘Pay’ from the top left on the app homepage.
    2. Select ‘Global transfers’.
    3. Enter the amount you want to transfer.
    4. Select ‘Add recipient’
    5. Enter ‘IBAN or account number, Name, Nationality’ (only in cases where new recipients are being added)
    6. Enter the required sender information
    7. ‘Select payment method’
    8. Select ‘Send money now’

  • How do I add a new recipient?

    Simply follow the below steps:

    1. Enter the amount you want to send
    2. Select add a recipient
    3. You will need to enter the full IBAN or account number, Full name and Nationality.
    4. Click on ‘Add’

  • How do I edit recipients?

    Simply follow the below steps:

    1. Enter the amount you would like to send
    2. You will be shown a list of recipients.
    3. Hold the recipient name whose details you wish to edit for a few seconds and you will get the option to edit the details.
    4. Enter the updated details.
    5. Select ‘Save’

  • How long does it take for the recipient to receive the money?

    It typically takes a few minutes (up to the next working day in some cases) for your transaction to get verified. Once verified, the recipient will receive the money in their bank account instantly. We also operate 24/7 which includes weekends and holidays.

    Please note first-time transactions or sending to specific accounts can take up to 24 hrs (or the next working day).
